Jan Houston, Resident Care Coordinator
As the Resident Care Coordinator for Avalon Assisted Living Community, Jan oversees all aspects of the Avalon Apartments and Cottages which consists of the Chalet and Lodge. Her role involves the direct oversight of the Resident Assistants and the coordination of each residents care through Individual Services Plans written upon admission and updated after 30 days and quarterly thereafter.
Jan is the longest term member at Avalon Assisted Living Community and even worked there before Ridgeline Management Company acquired the property and turned it into the Assisted Living Community it is today. Her role is vital in coordinating the services from the Administrator and Registered Nurse through to each and every resident. In addition she also serves as one the top advocates for the staff and residents at Avalon Assisted Living Community while helping to guide the development and direction of the company’s future.
A native of Mississippi Jan came to Madison, Wisconsin in 1997 to live closer to her father Reverend Larry Jackson. She has 2 children, Marquez- 21 and Bryniqua-14 as well as a step son Lamario-22. She is a very active member of her church, True Worshipers and at times leads the choir services. She has been with her loving husband, Bryant for 14 years. While away from work, family, and church she enjoys shopping, cooking, and planning family gatherings.
